Long Beach Man Charged with Robberies
Police say Jamar Felder and accomplices stole from a store in Hempstead and two men in Freeport.
Jamar Felder, 23, of Long Beach was arrested and charged with robberies in Hempstead and Freeport.
According to Nassau County Police Department, Felder and two suspects entered the Mable Food Market, at 21 Steward Ave. in Hempstead, displayed a silver handgun and removed an undetermined amount of cash from the register and a box of cigars and fled the scene at 9:57 p.m. on Jan. 19.
On Feb. 1 at 10 p.m., Felder and two suspects approached two men, ages 19 and 21, and demanded money outside 188 Whaley St. in Freeport. While one suspect displayed a black handgun and another suspect displayed a silver revolver, Felder took a wallet with cash, personal papers and a cell phone from the men.
After a joint investigation with the NCPD’s Robbery Squad, First Squad and Third Squad, Felder was arrested without incident on Cooper Street in Hempstead on Feb. 8. He was charged with four counts of first-degree robbery and two counts of first-degree criminal use of a firearm. He will be arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on Wednesday. The other suspects have not yet been arrested.

You know you people disgust me. Anything to keep kickin a person hen they are down. No, Jamar didn't hang out at Waldbaums Or the recycling machines. He is a kid that no one was looking out for. He stayed all over the place, never having his OWN bed anywhere. Always a mat on the floor or a couch or chair somewhere, but not HIS own. What he did was wrong. Not being in charge of your own person is wrong. But to not learn from your mistakes is worse. Lets hope he learns from his mistakes and turns his life around. I don't kick people when they are down, I give them a hand up. I know you guys are gonna stomp on me now, but I have to go.

Ya gotta lighten up on us, Lucy. This is what happens to people who get arrested and they appear in the news.
That happens to everybody...rich and poor, Black and White, celebs and chumps.

I think we should introduce Jamar to Michael Fagan.
They would make such a cute couple at the County Jail.
Seriously, though...
I bet this poor kid gets 3-5 for stealing a few dollars from a food market while Fagan will walk away with little more than a slap on the wrist for all his crimes.
Thats our justice system for ya.

Nice try Lloyd.. he robbed a food market at gun point and robbed two men on the street at gun point. Hope you don't run into this poor kid while he's robbing pedestrians at gun point. Why dont you go back to that dump Seaford already.

Hey John. im in Seaford right now. It looks very good to me without all the corruption and nastiness that many of you people put up with in Long Beach.
And I don't advocate or condone armed robberies, but Felder's crime is not any worse than all the stealing done by Long Beach politicians without the need of weapons.

Point of info, Jamar didn't have the gun and he doesn't smoke. But keeping bad company an following bad behavior does make you just as guilty. Like I said, he had no where to call home and no one to guide him through the storm. Hopefully he turns his life around and stops making excuses to be around negativity. And the "cougar" was where he would shower and change clothes. True that there was a price to pay. Shame on her. But this is how she rolls. Maybe te county will wake him up. And I by NO MEANS, give him a pass because I know him. You do the crime, you do the time. My kids included. Have a great day.

Lucy, whether he was holding the gun or not, he is guilty. At age 50 I've never hung out with anyone who possessed a gun. At 23, Jamar knows better too. Time for him to stop placing blame on anyone but himself and his time in jail will give him the opportunity to reflect and move forward. Incidentally, if anyone knew about the "cougar" taking advantage of him as a minor, why wasn't CPS notified? If you see something, say something.

Too old for that 'ho?
Definitely not. But also not in any position now to go for sloppy seconds or thirds.
Seriously now... The people who also should be held responsible for Jamar's tough life are his parents. I bet they were too busy with their own issues/addictions to ever care for their son.
