Police Report: Detectives Seek Robbery Suspects

The LBPD-NCPD blotters on Long Beach and nearby incidents.

The following information was supplied by the Long Beach Police Department/Nassau County Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.

Nassau County police are asking for the public's help in identifying three men who robbed and assaulted a man walking on North Village Avenue in Rockville Centre on July 31.

The man’s stolen credit card was recently used at Village Liquors in RVC, and the suspect, who was caught on camera at the liquor store, forged the victim's signature, police said.

According to police, a man walking around the area of 10 North Village Ave. was approached by three black men, who were described as about six-feet tall and in their early 20s, at around 2 a.m. July 31.

Authorities said the man was punched in the face, fell to the ground and was kicked while on the ground. The man suffered cuts to his face and bruises on his arm and back. The suspects robbed him and fled the scene.

Man Armed With Knife Steals Laptop

A man at the Green Acres Mall in Valley Stream was robbed of his Apple Mac laptop and threatened with a knife by suspect on on Sept. 13, Nassau County police said.

At 3:53 p.m., the 29-year-old man was sitting outside of Michaela Leather and Fur, at 1088 Green Acres Mall, when a black male black suspect snatched his computer. When the victim challenged the subject, the robber took out a kitchen knife and threatened him. The subject fled on foot toward a parking lot.

The suspect is described as in his 20’s, about six-feet tall with a slim build and long hair gathered into a ponytail and wearing a blue shirt, grey pants and black shoes.

Other Arrests

  • Steve Sannuto, 31, of Massapequa Park was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated on Oceanview Avenue at Tennessee Avenue on Sept. 5.
  • Azel Whetts, 34, of Yonkers was arrested and charged with unlawful imprisonment, criminal possession of a weapon and robbery at East Fulton Street on Sept. 11.
  • Kevin Mitchell, 32, of Long Beach was arrested and charged with unlawful imprisonment, criminal possession of a weapon and robbery at East Fulton Street on Sept. 11.
