Quiksilver to Join Bobis Fundraiser

Company plans to donate surfboards for raffle and auction.

Quicksilver is staying involved in the Long Beach community after holding the Pro New York surfing competition in the city in September.

The company announced Thursday that it will take part in the Daniel Bobis Memorial Fundraiser at the Inn, on West Beech Street, Saturday afternoon. Find out what the company plans to offer for the raffle and auction.

The fundraiser will follow a ceremony to rename the Laurelton Boulevard beach after Bobis, the beloved Long Beach teacher who died while surfing off the coast of Sumatra in July, in a ceremonial unveiling of a sign there at 1 p.m. Saturday, according to the Long Beach Herald.
