Long Beach Man Shot in Face

Police seeks public's help in finding the gunman.

A Long Beach man is in serious but stable condition after he was shot in the face on a city street early Monday morning.

According to Long Beach Police Department, an unspecified number of men got into multiple fights at East Market Street when one suspect pulled out and gun and shot another man just after 12 a.m. on May 30.

“There was some type of altercation prior to a male being shot in the face,” Det. Lt. James Canner said Monday afternoon.

Canner described the wounded man as a Long Beach resident in his early 20s. He was taken to Long Beach Medical Center and is in serious but stable condition, Canner said.

Canner said had no further details about the incident, including the gunman, but said police are investigating.
