I always wondered about these surfing schools. Not that they're a bad thing, but how is the CityRead More remunerated for the use of a public beach? How is the issue of liability covered?
Elliot Zuckerman January 30, 2013 at 01:07 pm
Resident , both the Skudins and my surfing school both pay the city on LB a fee to use the beach, weRead More must have full insurance, liability and workmen's comp, we bid on our beaches four years ago and we are going into the last year of our contract, we pay taxes and also pay the city a sanitation fee as well and both of our schools clean the beach and try to maintain a safe area for new students, my school surf2live must share a beach with surfers and the skudins have a beach to themselves until 1 pm, we both are respectful to our city and encourage surfers of all ages the chance to learn to surf. I have been providing this service for over 20 years and love teaching, we both are certified by NSSIA and i am a certified professional surfing coach as well .

Call Pete Kings office. Tell him that REGARDLESS of how he votes, you will hold the ENTIRE GOP NYRead More delegation responsible if their redneck scumbag cohorts try to hold up the January 15th vote for the money to fix the boardwalk and the rest of NY & NJ. Tell him that if those pos hacks from the South want to stay in the majority in 2014 they had better cough up that dough. Dont sit back and take this nonsense from these rats.

Wikyjalo, besides reporting your insurance company open your mouth, DO NOT let them tell you anyRead More crap such as your claim is being processed, we are so busy you have to wait, open your mouth tell them you want your money, call every TV station, they love this, its news and news that is very helpful, use your insurance carriers and their subs name, let the world know they suck and do not want to pay your claim, can you image telling them you will send your payment check in a few months because you are busy, see how long they will wait before you are dropped, weeks, let them know you are mad as hell and will not take it anymore.

Can you imagine the money this town will loose if the beaches are closed.. All businesses willRead More suffer. It all comes down to management .. Let's hope in 7 months all will be okay. But I also would live to know more of the facts.

They fixed it because it was losing millions. Owned by AOL, they want to make it operate without anRead More editor or writers. Knowing AOL's track record, is anyone surprised. Seems they're great at creating a good thing and then ruining it.

The City would feel more comfortable if former City Manager Charles Theofan were sitting at thisRead More table as commander in chief. Long Beachers pray the storm passes away from us and tides do not flood streets and basements.
