West End Civic Meeting, Meditation Class

Here’s what’s happening in Long Beach on Wednesday.

Civic Meeting: West End Neighbors Civic Association will hold a regular monthly meeting at the West End Community Center, at 80 Maryland Ave., at 7 p.m. Wednesday. The guest speaker is City Manager Jack Schnirman. Planned topics of discussion include dunes reconstruction and plantings, Irish Day, and the NY Rising Program.

Meditation Class: Instructor Lisa Wisel will teach meditation techniques that facilitate renewed energy by focusing on breath and body sensation, along with easy stretches at the Long Beach Library, 111 W. Park Ave., starting at 2:15 p.m. Wednesday.

Continuing Ed. Registration: Long Beach School District’s Continuing Education Program will hold in-person registration Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Long Beach Middle School, 239 Lido Blvd. in Lido Beach. Participants may also register by mail by filling out the registration form found in the course offering booklet, or online here. For information call 516-897-2206 from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Classes begin Sept. 30.

Holiday: The Jewish holiday of Sukkot begins at sundown Wednesday.
