Please support your Long Beach Professional Firefighters. The city manager is thinking of laying off the newly hired firefighters.
Two of them have been in the academy for 5 weeks and they are going to cut them from it early. The city paid about 8K for them to attend the academy, which will go to waste if they are laid off. They will then need to pay another 8K when they rehire. Wasteful spending!
Since being hired in September, these firefighters have helped out the entire community, truly saving lives each day on the job. They are selfless men who love their job and love protecting and aiding the community. Support them and take a stand!
