ANimal Shelter Operator Found
The rumor around town is that Posh Pets, a New York animal rescue organization has been selected by the City Council to operate the Long Beach Animal Shelter.
From what I gather, the Police Department was placed in charge of finding a replacement for the thieving outfit who botched the job for the last several years. The Police Department, it seems gets stuck with all the jobs that nobody else wants to do.
It seems that Mike Tangney did a good job here, hiring some locals to work in the shelter, which is the City's job, and finding a nonprofit agency who will work with them on the adoptions and administration.
In the past, volunteers have been staffing the place.
Until the arrangement is officially announced, be free to correct any inaccuracies.
It would be nice to see a close to the Rescue Ink debacle that makes this place a good stop for Long Beach wayward four-legged animals.
