Anyone pass Lindell Deli and see the sign 33 days without heat and electricity? What happened there anyone know?

Eddie, While I agree on the healthcare comment and am fearful that my options are that it will be run like the DMV, USPS or FEMA , I think Lindell Deli is something different. It appears all the surrounding homes and a nearby business have had power restored for over 3 weeks. Perhaps Mr Ashcroft would care to enlighten us on the exact predicament.

It does not matter that electricity has been restored in area if the home or business cannot get an electrician to do wiring repair. I live around block area on 500 west fulton street block and we had no power for 33 days until yesterday. If wiring was submerged why take a chance on causing a fire by turning power on if not checked by electrician. I think it is good that businesses and homeowners check wiring and electrical checked before even considering flipping the switch. My utility room was submerged in 5 ft plus salt water, and I would not turn our power back on until electrician said ok. But in the interim I had to have my circuit wiring under house and boxes with breakers replaced along with main feed. Be safe not stupid.

Same here, Angela. No heat or hot water since the night of the storm. Electricians "put me on the list" or quote me 4-6 weeks. Finally have electrician who scheduled us for next week. We'll see.
