Lace Up For The 10th Annual Sean Ryan Memorial 5K Saturday

On Saturday, the 10th annual Sean Ryan Memorial 5K will be held on the streets of Long Beach starting at 8:30 a.m.

The “flat and fast” 5K starts and finishes at Long Beach Recreation Center and costs $20 to register. Online registration closes at noon on Friday, June 27, but runners can register the day of the race between 7 a.m. and 8 a.m. at the Recreation Center’s parking lot for $25.

Awards will be given to the first overall male and female, the first Long Beach male and female, the first physically challenged male and female, the top three Long Beach Police Department finishers, and the top three male and female from among 14 different age groups.

There will also be a 1K Fun Run offered to children 17 and under for $5 per person. This race starts at 8 a.m. and pre-registration is available at www.longbeachny.org and on the day of the race until 7:45.

No strollers, baby joggers, skateboards, roller blades, roller skates, bicycles or pets will be permitted. T-shirts will be given to all registrants. For more information, visit the event page or the organizer’s site.
