My Dad lives there too (and stayed in his apartment) According to the caretaker of the building, the survey team came around and the electricians gave it a thumbs up to have power restored. All around 666 Shore Road, lights came on Tuesday evening. In the townhouses across from him and even nearby emergency lights. He is still waiting.

Hi Sam - He is with neighbors and friends and we speak on his cell phone every day, so we know he is doing Ok. The core group that has remained in their apartments just wants to know when the power will be back as the building was deemed fine to receive power.

The building does not have its green sticker yet.... They did not have the building inspected by an electrician yet. We are waiting for that. My wife was there and spoke with Miguel and they are trying to get someone.

Hi Richard- Here is my cell phone number - 917 721 0322. I am kind of Dad's advocate and lifeline since Sandy happened. We connect twice a day or when he has a chance to charge his cell phone and/or has reception. He was under the impression, and so was his neighbor, that the next step was power gets returned. The guys he spoke to downstairs yesterday afternoon assured him that the building was able to accept power and now LIPA just needed to do so.

Richard - If I cannot get to the phone (working), please just leave me a message. I would truly appreciate any feed-back (positive, or otherwise!) Thank YOU!!

Does anyone know of a licensed electrician that can go to 666 Shore Road tomorrow and help the building get its power back? My Dad just advised me that Miguel said he doesn't really know anyone to call and does not have the authority to make decisions like that. LIPA said that everyone around that building got its power back because an electrician was present.

I looked up LB electricians on my iPad and just started calling. The first one that returned my call I asked to come over. It was Bob Fink 723-1099

Thanks Linda - For the residents of 666 Shore Road that I spoke to and heard from on the Patch, what do you think of calling him tomorrow and having him come and access the situation?

Since I am at work and not at the 666 Shore Road site, I would think that whomever could get an electrician there to expedite the problem probably should. There are so many conflicting stories from LIPA. Dad said there were inspectors there that said things were ok; then there was also talk of needing an electrician which means that items need to be fixed and a certificate from the electrician needs to be faxed or e-mailed to LIPA before they will turn on the power. I agree with Iris about joining together - near and far - to help.

I spoke with a very nice and intelligent gentleman last night named Richard Eisenberg who has an apartment at 666 Shore Road. Maybe he could direct you to the board members numbers. - I do not think at a time like this he would mind me sharing it - 917 301 8124

As an adide, who is the managing agent of 66 Shore Road? I am guessing at one point it was a company named Klar Realty? Who owns the building? Who manages it on a daily basis? Getting an electrician is PRIORITY ONE right now as that will be the road to powering up the building and then folks can go home and resume some sense of normalcy. And, the residents who stayed can warm up!

any more updates on 666 Shore Road's status for power being restored? It would so nice for all the residents who stayed during the outage, as well as the ones who will be coming back this week-end because they want to finally go home, to have electricity, hot water and eventually some heat!!!

Joy I was there today ..Saw St.Miguel..we have the Green Sticker was inspected..minor repairs to boiler were being worked on...we are Just waiting for LIPA to do there part..

Does anyone know when the heat will be back on? I know the electric is back, but how long until we have hot water and heat? Thanks!
Joy Seaton November 13, 2012 at 12:24 AM
I spoke to my Dad tonight who lives at 666 Shore Road, and apparently there are many opinions on what is wrong with the boiler and the timeline for getting it fixed and up and running. I have been thinking nothing but positive thoughts for the residents of 666 when it comes to power (back on!) and now heat and hot water. It would make such a great difference for them be able to take a hot shower and have a comfortable apartment, something that most of us take for granted.
