Affordable (Workforce) Rental Housing Units Available

The Village of Great Neck Plaza is accepting a second round of applications for Affordable (Workforce) Housing units at 255 Great Neck Road.  Persons who have not submitted an application may do so presently.  There are 9 one-bedroom and 10 two-bedroom rental units available to single persons or families that meet certain categorical and financial eligibility guidelines, as well as standards applicable to other tenants in the building, including credit standards.  Some of these units are in the process of being leased, but some are still available; mostly two-bedroom units. If you are determined to be eligible, a lease for one or two years will be offered, which you will be required to sign promptly after it is offered.  Rent for an affordable unit will be established at 30% of the combined annual gross income of all persons in the household.  There is a $125 (non-refundable) application fee.  An application package may be picked up in person at Village Hall, 2 Gussack Plaza, or downloaded on the Village's website at www.greatneckplaza.net.  Applications must be returned to the Village no later than February 28, 2013, which is the deadline for the second round of applications.  Applications received will be reviewed at the end of each calendar month and will be randomly ranked for selection purposes.  For more information, contact Pat O'Byrne, Village Clerk, or Brian Hetey, Mayor's Assistant, via telephone (516) 482-4500, fax (516) 482-3503 or email mayorsassistant@greatneckplaza.net.
