'Believe' It or Not, Filming in Long Beach Until Wednesday

The City of Long Beach made the following announcement about filming that will be conducted in the city from Monday to Wednesday:
:
Filming in the City of Long Beach 10/21, 10/22, & 10/23

In light of the successful filming of the TV show “The Blacklist” in March 2013, the City of Long Beach has again been chosen as a location for a major film shoot. This time, a new TV series called “Believe” will be filming a scene in our great City. All costs to the City of Long Beach associated with this TV shoot have been absorbed by the production company. In addition, the City has received more than $15,000 in permit fees.

Great care was taken to notify residents of the affected location, first by the production crew who delivered flyers to the homes in the area on Friday October 18th, and then by the Long Beach Police Department, with both signs placed in the area informing residents about the filming and that alternate side parking has been suspended during the event, and with loudspeakers warning them when shooting was underway. As our top priority is to protect the safety and wellbeing of our residents, the Long Beach Police Department maintains a 24 hour presence on set while filming is taking place.

The City of Long Beach has worked to minimize disruption to the residents of the immediate area and the City as a whole, while maintaining a welcoming and flexible atmosphere for film and TV production. It is an honor for our City by the Sea to be chosen as a prime location for the filming of TV shows and movies, and we thank both the creators and producers of “Believe” for choosing Long Beach to film part of their new show, and our residents for their cooperation throughout this event.
