Bethpage Federal Credit Union Branch Opens Tuesday in Long Beach

Credit union will open its 28th branch on Long Island in Long Beach.

Bethpage Federal Credit Union, New York State’s largest credit union, will open its 28th Long Island branch Tuesday in Long Beach. The bilingual branch will open on 26 W. Park Ave., across the street from the Long Beach LIRR station.

“We couldn’t be happier to officially welcome Bethpage to the City of Long Beach,” Long Beach City Council President Scott. J. Mandel said. “They are a true community partner and I look forward to implementing many successful initiatives together.”

“Bethpage is thrilled to officially become a member of the Long Beach community after working so closely with town officials over the past year and a half on Hurricane Sandy recovery efforts,” said Kirk Kordeleski, the president and CEO of Bethpage. “A big priority for Bethpage, we are very eager to work hand in hand with area businesses and residents to offer our continued assistance, and make loans, products and services available with the best rates and lowest fares possible, to aid in continued growth.”

Starting Tuesday, as part of its partnership with the City of Long Beach, Bethpage will donate $50 to the Long Beach Relief Fund and $50 to the member for each new checking account with full direct deposit opened at the new branch. Members can also apply for a commemorative Long Beach debit card.

3 for 3, well done! The vote meant less? Yes, that tends to happen when you correct a wrong. Quite far from "taken from or denied" though. How about when segregation was lifted and black people were given the right to sit anyway on the bus; what right was taken from white people? Let me guess, they just had less seats to sit in. Eddie, I'm not trying to change your feeling's rights. I just like to point out stupidity when I see it.

It's a pleasure to read your opinion Charlie, although it differs from mine. Thanks for sharing.

That Parade website also lists North Shore- LIJ and several other Long Island businesses as sponsors. -- http://liglbtnetwork.org/pride -- I don’t think my 86 year old mother would care that her favorite radio station KJOY was a sponsor. I think a lot of her group thought things out back when Archie Bunker learned his idol macho football player was gay. In another episode, Cousin Liz dies, and Archie doesn’t want Liz’s “friend” Veronica to get her tea set because “Veronica ain’t even family.” Edith has to explain to Archie that “Veronica and Cousin Liz were like-married.” THAT WAS 40 YEARS AGO! -- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HBNXOvfuDMA
