It was a busy week on Long Beach Patch, and your neighbors shared a number of stories pertaining to the Long Beach community.
Here's a look at some interesting boards posts from the past week:
- Volunteers Needed: Long Beach Animal Shelter needs volunteers for the dogs and cats. We also need cat litter and kitten food.
- Boardwalk Progress: Two pics of the boardwalk progress. Looking East shows the railing installs and looking West shows the beginnings of the all wood portion.
- LIRR Ticket for Sale: One Round Trip ticket from Long Beach to Penn Station, expires Sept. 7, Senior rate, regularly $12.50 asking $9.50.
- Brooklyn Cyclones to Host Nassau County Night to Benefit Superstorm Sandy Victims: Head down to Coney Island on July 22 and help raise money for the Nassau Hurricane Recovery Fund, which helps Nassau County victims of Superstorm Sandy.
- Blimp Flies Over Long Beach: Got a good look at the Good Year Blimp while it passed over Point Lookout heading towards Long Beach.
