Construction of the Long Beach Boardwalk, heading west from its start at Long Beach Boulevard, reached the Allegria Hotel at National Boulevard, about a three-block span, on Tuesday.
The City of Long Beach said this week that Grace Industries, the firm hired to rebuild the 2.2-mile structure, is still on schedule to open a five-block section on July 23, the 100-day milestone for construction.
As the tropical hardwood and concrete decking are installed, so too are the railings as well as the fasteners and hurricane straps beneath the structure.
As sections of the boardwalk become available, they will be open to the public, the city said.
