City: All Roads Plowed, LBFD Volunteers on Standby, Rec/Ice Arena Open

The City of Long Beach issued the following snow update for Wednesday morning:

Public Works crews have been out plowing all night in the snow and wind, which continues to pose a challenge in the form of drifting snow. Though our roads are passable, please beware of slippery conditions as the cold temperatures will not allow the snow and ice to melt.

Please continue to stay off roads if possible. If you must drive, leave extra time take it very slow.

When shoveling, please take care not to shovel into the streets if possible to avoid plowing in your neighbors. Also, we encourage Long Beach residents to check on their neighbors, especially seniors, to be sure that everyone is OK and has what they need.

As a reminder, recycling has been suspended today so the City was able to send out additional vehicles to sand and plow the streets.

While the work continues, every single road in the City's 52 miles of road has seen a plow and a sander at least twice.
