1. Resolution Electing a Temporary President of the City Council of the City of Long Beach.

PUBLIC HEARING: Ordinance to Amend the Code of Ordinances of the City of Long Beach Re: Appendix A – Zoning to Help in the Rebuilding of Houses Throughout the City

3. Ordinance to Amend the Code of Ordinances of the City of Long Beach Re: Appendix A – Zoning to Help in the Rebuilding of Houses Throughout the City.

Legislative Memo: This amendment to the code will allow residents to raise the height limit of new residential structures.  These structures will comply with all FEMA and New York State Building Code requirements. The height of a structure is measured from the required finished first floor elevation to the mid-point of a peaked roof and for a flat roof at the highest point of the structure. After feedback from the public, we have amended the requiring of at least two on-site parking spaces created only “where technically feasible”.

4. Resolution Confirming the Appointment of a Member to the Zoning Board of Appeals of the City of Long Beach.

6. Resolution Authorizing the City Manager to Enter into an Agreement for
Engineering Services in Conjunction with the Re-Lining of Potable Water Well No. 15.

Legislative Memo: Well No. 15 is one of the City’s eight active potable wells. A potable water well has a useful life of 30-40 years. Re-lining Well No. 15 will extend its useful life for another 30-40 years, at approximately half the cost of opening a new well. Proposals for this project were received prior to Superstorm Sandy.  This project is part of the City’s Capital Improvement Program.

7. Resolution Authorizing Publication for Hearing of an Ordinance to Amend the Code of Ordinances of the City of Long Beach Re: Appendix A – Zoning to Help in the Rebuilding of Houses Throughout the City.

Legislative Memo: This item is on for publication only. Pursuant to Section 9-115 of the Zoning Code a notice of this amendment shall be published for three successive weeks in the City’s official newspaper. This amendment is for the Residence DD District, known as “The Walks”.
