Flash Flood Watch in Effect at Noon Through Tuesday Night

Heavy rain in the forecast for the region.

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch for all of Long Island and New York City starting at noon Monday.

Multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms are set to move across the region ahead of a cold front, according to the NWS.

The storms will produce "torrential downpours" and between 2-3 inches of rainfall is predicted through late Tuesday night. Gusty winds are also possible with some of the storms, the NWS said.

Temperatures are expected to top out near 80 over the next few days.
