Jan. 25: School Budget Talk, Talk of Israel-Palestine, Long Beach Talk Radio

Here's what's happening in Long Beach on Monday.

Each morning, visit Patch to get the scoop on the top five things you need to know about Long Beach for the day. Here’s what you need to know for Tuesday:

1. The Long Beach Board of Education will hold a work session starting at 7:30 p.m. at Long Beach Middle School. Residents are welcome to join the discussion on the school district’s proposed 2011-2012 budget.

2. Mothers, listen up! We’ll be putting out a call for you in a post here on Long Beach Patch, so visit again later today to find out exactly how we’d like to tap your parenting know-how and contribute to this site.

3. A local interfaith group will hold a discussion on the state of affairs between Israelis and Palestinians and the prospects for peace in Jerusalem and the Holy Land starting at 7 p.m. at the Long Beach Library.

4. The Long Beach Daisy Troop will meet at the Long Beach Library starting at 4:15 pm.

5. Long Beach radio personality Halftime Howie airs his Broadcasting on the Beach show from a West End law office at 8 p.m. on WGBB 1240.
