Magnolia Center Closed After Pipe Bursts

The Magnolia Center is temporarily closed as the city works to repair a sprinkler pipe burst at the building overnight.

An announcement posted on the City of Long Beach’s website Thursday reads:

“Unfortunately, due to the extremely cold temperatures, a sprinkler system pipe froze and exploded at the Magnolia Center, causing significant water damage overnight. The City is currently working to make repairs and will reopen  the facility as soon as possible. Please check the City's website later today for an update.”
The city-owned Magnolia Center, at 650 Magnolia Blvd., offers senior programs and also houses a child care facility.
