Missing Surfer's Body Found Off Indonesian Coast

The body of Long Beach resident Daniel Bobis was found Thursday morning.

The body of Daniel Bobis, the Long Beach resident, teacher and surfer who went missing while surfing off of the coast of Indonesia on Sunday morning, was found early Thursday.

A close family friend confirmed the details at 10:44 a.m. this morning on the Daniel Bobis Info Facebook page.

The post said: "I know there are several news post and comments going around right now, so as a very close friend of Danny and Rachel, and after confirming with his family, Daniel Bobis has passed away. No further details have been provided, nor are necessary at this time. We are all deeply saddened by the loss of this amazing husband, teacher, surfer and friend to so many. Unsound will be hosting a memorial paddle out on this Sunday @ Laurelton 6pm."

According to the Facebook page, the body was found somewhere up the coast by a group of fishermen, where it was positively identified by family members.

Hundreds of people have flocked to the Facebook page to show their support and leave their sympathies for Bobis, who was involved in the beach community in many different ways.
