Scenes in the City: Signs of Summer

A photo gallery of people and places in Long Beach.

Although summer officially starts next Tuesday, signs that the season is already in full swing are all around in Long Beach. Jet skiers are cruising on the ocean, more fisherman are casting their lines off Magnolia pier, greater flocks of pigeons are pecking at bread crumbs on the boardwalk, and some are playing kick volleyball on the beach. Patch spotlights some of these signs of summer in today's Viewfinder photos gallery.

This (sometimes-twice) weekly feature aims to capture many of the interesting and attractive scenes throughout the bustling beach town, with its distinct neighborhoods and diverse population.

If you have photos of city scenes that you would like us to consider for our Viewfinder gallery, please email them — along with descriptive captions — to josephk@patch.com. Photos must be sent with the photographer's permission.
