A gutted vacancy in the West End of Long Beach will soon be home to a new surf shop.
Called Moku, the shop will specialize in long boards and sport a Hawaiian- and Long Beach-themed atmosphere, said owner Kevin Sime, a local resident and businessman.
It will be located at 879 West Beech Street, or the former Tara Upholstery store, which was vacated after Hurricane Sandy. Sime said his goal is to open his new store by early August.
