Film Festival at Long Beach
Day 2 of the Long Beach International Film Festival is Friday beginning at 4 p.m. with a series of short independent films. Admission is free (a $5 donation is requested) to the event at the Long Beach Public Library. See details here.
Arts & Crafts Festival
The Long Beach Historical Society will hold their annual Arts & Crafts Festival is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Riverside Boardwalk, according to the City of Long Beach calendar.
Long Island Music Festival
The Good Times Long Island Music Festival Finals with Benior & The Long Beach All-Stars kicks off at Mulcahy's Pub and Concert Hall, at 3232 Railroad Ave., in Wantagh. Eight bands will compete before 15 judges.
Beach Movie Night
The West End Neighbors Civic Association will hold Movie Night on the Beach at Virginia Beach on Sunday. "The Avengers" will start rolling at 8 p.m.
Tomato Contest in Westbury Sunday
Hicks Nursery's annual Tomato Contest will be held Sunday beginning at 10 a.m. at their stand on Jericho Turnpike in Westbury. Prizes will be awarded for heaviest tomato, largest circumference, most unusual and tiniest red tomato. Bring your entries; judging begins at 11 am. Details here.
U2 Concert Film at Tilles Center
The Tillis Center on on the LIU campus on Northern Boulevard presents a concert documentary depicting the 1987 North American tour of the iconic rock band, U2. Saturday at 7 p.m.; $10 admission. Details here.
