Business Support Center, Square Dance On Tap This Week

Business Support Center: The City of Long Beach opens a Business Support Center at the West End Library, 810 W. Beech St., offering technical assistance and information to new and existing businesses to grow and support long- and short-term economic recovery efforts in the post-Hurricane Sandy beach town. There will be a speaker on New York State Sandy-related funding and one-on-one evaluations at 3 p.m. Wednesday. More information here.

Square Dance Party: The city’s Office of Youth and Family Services will hold a square dance party featuring string band musicians from Brooklyn at Kennedy Plaza, 1 W. Chester St. (outside City Hall), from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Saturday. 

Beach Music:
The summer concert series continues this week with Joe Kane's Big Band at Riverside beach on Monday, Alive 'N Kickin' at Riverside beach on Tuesday, Stolen Alibi at New York Ave beach on Wednesday, and Steel Horse at Neptune Blvd beach on Thursday. All concerts start at 8 p.m.

BOE Meeting: The Long Beach Board of Education will hold a meeting at the Middle School, 239 Lido Blvd. in Lido Beach, starting at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Skating Camp: The Long Beach Ice Arena will hold a figure skating camp with group instruction on all aspects of the sports, for ages 6 and older, on Thursday and Friday.
