WENCA: Movie Night on the Beach

Hello Neighbor,

I just wanted to remind you that this Sunday is Movie Night on the Beach, hosted by the West End Neighbors Civic Association (WENCA).  You may have seen some of the flyers on Oceanview, in Georgia Park and in local business windows.  We will be showing Journey 2: the Mysterious Island, starring Dwayne (The Rock) Johnson.  The movie will be shown on Virginia Avenue Beach.  Start time will be 8:30.  We’ll even have some goodies for the kids.  And don’t forget to tell your neighbors.

We are watching the weather closely.  Hopefully Mother Nature will cooperate, but if not, the rain date will be next Sunday, July 7th.  Please like the West End Neighbors Civic Association Facebook page to be kept up to date on the movie status.

It is also time for annual dues for WENCA membership.  Actually, it is well past time for our normal membership/dues drive, but everyone had other priorities earlier in the year.  New for this year, I am pleased to announce that you can now pay your West End Neighbors Civic Association membership dues online. Just go to the WENCA website (http://www.westendneighbors-longbeach.org), scroll down a bit and click on the donate button.  This will take you to a PayPal site where you can pay your dues.

In addition to paying online, you can pay your dues by mail.  If you mail your dues, please include your name, address, email address, and telephone number along with your check and mail to:

Dues for 2013 are $25 for families.  These funds help support activities like Movie Night on the Beach and other WENCA activities.  We are planning three movie nights this year: June 30, July 21 and August 25, but we need your support to make those happen.  Dues are for the calendar year, and we need them to make these events a reality, so please bring your dues up to date.  If you are not already a member, please join!
