Cablevision-Tribune standoff is over.
The Bethpage-based cable operator said Friday night that it had reached a deal with the parent company of WPIX.
The New York station had been unavailable to Cablevision subscribers since mid-August, when negotiations over retransmission fees broke down.
In a statement, Cablevision said "We sincerely appreciate the patience of our customers as we worked to reach an agreement that is consistent with our focus on minimizing the impact of rising programming costs on cable rates."
The Tribune deal also returns a FOX affiliate to Connecticut subscribers and WPHL to subscribers in the New Jersey suburbs of Philadelphia.
Editor's Note: Patch has a partnership with PIX 11, called
"Patch on PIX,"where the station features major stories from Patch sites in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.
