hidemyass.com STAYING ANONYMOUS!

Best Way:  Stay off line.

Telephone: Use Prepaid Phones and then throw them out.

Firewall:  Windows 7 & 8 come with a Window's firewall.   Also consider Norton Internet Security and Zonealarm Free firewall.

What do others know about you when you visit a website:   Go to stayinvisible.com      and find out.

Remove stuff stored in your browser (like passwords, cookies):  Use CCleaner to get rid of it.     Use duckduckgo.com instead of google.   The duck site does not track you.

Proxies & VPN:   Appear to to be someone else in a different location.  (getfoxyproxy.org)        Use a VPN (virtual private network) to secure traffic between your computer & servers and also to mask your IP address and location.   vpnbook.com    or    cyberghostvpn.com  or   hidemyass.com

TOR:  Tor is supposed to make it impossible to figure out who you are.    NSA did know that users were using TOR but did not know who the users were.   So the NSA would pretend to be the site  the user wanted and then send data back to the user taking advantage of holes in the user's browser (not a hole in TOR).

e-mail: Encryption of web based e-mail.   mailvelope.com   streak.com/securegmail

Avoiding Spam: Use a dummy e-mail address.   guerrillamail.com

Social network security: Change privacy settings (facebook, etc.)
