Ralph’s Ices Slated for West Park Vacancy

Ralph’s Italian Ices and Ice Cream is slated to open a second shop in Long Beach.

The shop is expected to occupy a vacancy at 8 W. Park Ave., according to an item on the City Council’s Jan. 21 agenda. The council voted Wednesday to hold a hearing on parking requirements for the proposed business at the Feb. 4 meeting.

Ralph’s has 80 locations across New Jersey and New York, including at 1090B W. Beech St. in Long Beach, adjacent to Beach Bagel and Deli, as well as in Island Park on Austin Boulevard and Oceanside on Lawson Boulevard. The shop’s menu offers everything from ices to smoothies to sundaes.

A MetroPCS mobile phone store last occupied the storefront at 8 W. Park. In April 2013, after the phone store had closed, a frozen yogurt shop was proposed for the vacancy but it never materialized.
