Filming to Cause Long Beach Bridge Closures This Weekend

The Nassau County Police Department advises the closure of the northbound Long Beach Bridge this weekend as television crews work to film a show.

Beginning at 5 a.m. on Saturday, March 23 through 11 p.m. Sunday, March 24, several lanes will be closed due to activity on the bridge.

According to the City of Long Beach website, NBC will be filming an action-adventure show entitled "The Blacklist" on the northbound side of the Long Beach Bridge.

"Please note that filming will involve special effects such as fire, smoke, actors repelling off the bridge, gunshots, and a car collision. These are elements of the filming and will be monitored by appropriate law enforcement officials. If you have any questions about the work being done or what to expect during filming, please contact 718-906-2526."
Northbound traffic from Long Beach will be diverted to one lane of the southbound bridge, while southbound traffic from Oceanside will be merged to one lane of the bridge.

Motorists should expect delays if traveling in the area and are advised to find alternate routes, police stated.
