Aug. 5: Labor Day Race Registration, Bob Marley Tribute, Bobis Memorial

The weekend is near, so we thought we'd let you know what's going on this Friday, Saturday and Sunday:

1. Registration for 22nd Annual Robert C. McAvoy Labor Day Five-Mile Run is ongoing at the Long Beach Recreation Center  at Magnolia Boulevard and West Bay Drive, or it can be done at this website.

2. Baseball fans, meet former New York Met Bud Harrelson at 12 p.m. at Citibank on E. Park Avenue on Aug. 6.

3. Reggae music fans, listen up! High Tide will performe a tribute to Bob Marley on Aug. 6 at 2 p.m. at the Long Beach Public Library.

4. The community is invited to a public memorial for deceased Long Beach surfer Dan Bobis at Laurelton Boulevard beach at 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 7.
