July 19: City Council Meets, Stroller Strides, Halftime Howie

Get the scoop on what's happening each weekday in Long Beach.

The second day of the work week brings many activities in Long Beach. Here are just a few we things you should know about:

1. The Long Beach City Council will hold a regular meeting at 7 p.m. at City Hall. This is the second meeting of the month and the council allows only public comment on the day's agenda.

Mothers, listen up! Get into shape with your little one right beside you the whole way. Stroller Strides is offering your first class for free. Mothers and their young ones in strollers meet at the Magnolia Boulevard playground at the boardwalk at 9:30 a.m. and set out on the boardwalk, stopping to do exercises along the way and on their return to the playground.

Long Beach radio personality Halftime Howie hosts his show Broadcasting On The Beach each Tuesday at 8 p.m. on AM 1240 WGBB.

4. West End residents
, listen up! Remember that sanitation pickup is each Tuesday and Friday in your neighborhood, and citywide recycling is every Wednesday. So put your garbage curbside this morning.
