July 20: Castles, Blood Drive and Risky Business

Get the scoop on what's happening each weekday in Long Beach.

It’s going to be another hot one here in Long Beach today. Here are just a few happenings you should know about:

1. Love learning about historic castles? Head to the Long Beach Public Library today at 2 p.m. to listen to Jessica Ley's lecture on the “Castles of the Baltic Sea.” She will take guests on a visual tour of castles in Sweden, Finland, Russia, Estonia and Denmark.

2. Temple Emanu-El will be holding a blood drive from 4 to 8 p.m. All donors will receive a pair of Mets tickets for their valuable donation. To participate, you must weigh 110 lbs, be between the ages of 16 and 75, eat well before donating and not have any tattoos or piercings within the past 12 months. 3. As part of the 2011 Long Beach Concert Series, Risky Business will be performing on the beach tonight at 8 p.m. Enjoy their rock ‘n roll rhythms and blues music under the beautiful night sky.

4. Wednesday means live music at the Bahia Social Club! Indulge in some fantastic music, delicious food and tasty drinks between 5:30 and 11 p.m. tonight.
