July 27: Bobis Benefit, Give Blood, Civic Assoc. Meets

1. A benefit for Daniel Bobis, the Long Beach surfer still missing at sea in southeast Asia, will be held at the Broadway Bar, at 198 Broadway in Amityville, from 6:30 to 11:30 p.m. For more information, visit http://www.facebook.com/DanielBobisInfo.

2. The West End Neighbors Civic Association will hold a meeting at 7 p.m. at the West End Community Center. The group addresses both West End and city-wide issues. Bring your concerns, comments and questions.

3. Real Hot Lanta performs at New York Avenue beach at 8 p.m. This show is part of the City of Long Beach's free summer concert series.

4. Earth Arts on West Park Avenue hosts a Harry Potter Kid's Night Out, complete with Butter Beer Mugs, Clay Sorting Hat Boxes, Harry Potter trivia, pizza and beverages, this coming Saturday. RSVP is a must for this $30 program. Registration is each day this week from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m.

5. Want to give blood today? The City of Long Beach will hold a free blood drive from 12 to 5:30 p.m. at the Magnolia Senior Center, and the Long Beach Public Library will hold a blood drive from 2:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the library.
