2. The Long Beach Board of Education will hold a meeting at 7:30 p.m. at Long Beach Middle School.

Here's a few stories you may have missed: A jury convicted Evan Potts of criminally negiligent homicide in the road rage-related incident in Long Beach in 2009 and his attorney vows to appeal, the West End Neighbors Civic Association held a beautification day last weekend, and high school students are growing fresh produce that is sold locally.

6. Coming up on Patch: Number 80 of our countdown series 100 Things to Do in Long Beach spotlights the handball courts tucked away in the north part town, and we'll take you inside a few classic and newly-refurbished city homes in a feature on the Long Beach Historical & Preservation Society's annual Heritage House Tours.
