Long Beach City Schools Update

Long Beach Schools update Thursday, Nov. 1.

A meeting was held this morning to assess the damage to our schools and to begin planning the future of the Long Beach Schools. BOCES estimates that our district suffered more storm damage than any other school district on Long Island and the road back will be long and difficult. But knowing how dedicated Long Beach teachers are to their students and their profession I am confident that they will meet and exceed all expectations.

The district has begun the work of recovery, as well as to plan bringing back schooling on a limited basis. There is no school tomorrow, Friday November 2.

Many of our members lost their cars and/or their homes to the storm. If you have an apartment or house to rent or a car to sell please e-mail lbcta@aol.com.

We are stronger together,
Steve Freeman - President
Long Beach Classroom Teachers Association
