Long Beach Native Promoted to Company Commander at Ft. Campbell

Keith Grant entered the active service in 2003.

U.S. Army Captain Keith E. Grant of Long Beach assumed command of Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 3rd Battalion, 187th Infantry Regiment (“Rakkasans”) of the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) on 23 June 2011 at .

Grant joined the “Rakkasans” in March 2011, following completion of the Infantry Maneuver Captains Career Course at Ft. Benning, Georgia.  He entered the active service in 2003, and is a two-time veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom with the 1st Cavalry Division of Ft. Hood, Texas.

Grant’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Army Commendation Medal (3), Army Achievement Medal (2), Army Good Conduct Medal, Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge, and the Combat Infantry Badge.

Grant is the son of Kathy and Edward Grant of Long Beach, and a 1990 graduate of Long Beach High School, and a graduate of Washington & Lee University in Lexington, Virginia.
