Long Beach Shelter Animals of the Week: Harry & Miss Chrissie

This pooch and kitty are looking for loving homes.

Harry is a kitten who came to the Long Beach/Rescue Ink Animal Shelter just last week. He is incredibly sweet and loves to be held and cuddled.

Miss Chrissie is a very sweet Basset Hound/Dachshund mix. She is nearly two years old and loves everyone.

To learn how you can adopt this kitty and pooch, visit the Long Beach/Rescue Ink Animal Shelter at 770 Park Pl. Adoption hours are Mon.-Fri. 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Sat. and Sun. 11 a.m.-5 p.m. For information or to volunteer, call 516-665-9050, or email: rescueinkredemption@gmail.com. Walk-ins and donations are welcome. There is also a 24-hour emergency line: 1-855-RSCINK (772-8465).

I think how everyone pitch in to help rebuild the MLK center shows proof that the community is unbiased when help is needed. The bigotry is when assumptions are made as to why one person received, while another waits. There are plenty of families from all different backgrounds in Long Beach still waiting for financial assistance from FEMA.

Yeah I've seen all the pictures of Joe "Panz" Panzarella with Chuck Schumer. Rescue Ink…Read More gets their shelter back but so many other things that are more important are still not up & running. The few animals that Rescue Ink had were in a safe warehouse so there was no real hurry to move them back to the building the shelter is in but they're back. "Politics make strange bedfellows" isn't that the saying? Chuck & Joe. Makes ya wanna go Hmmmmmmmm!!!!!!
