Long Beach's Lannan Inks Phillies Deal

Chaminade High School graduate John Lannan has signed a one year, $2.5 million contract to pitch for the Philadelphia Phillies next season.

The Long Beach native and left-handed pitcher played for the Washington Nationals for parts of the last six seasons. He has a 42-52 lifetime record.

He spent most of 2012 in the minor leagues, though he went 4-1 while pitching in Washington this year. Lannan will compete in spring training for a spot in Philadelphia's starting rotation.
