Momona Gallery is Melting Pot Of Artisans

New Long Beach store displays work from Bulgaria to Baldwin.

The Momona Gallery, where artisans from around the world display their work, opened in Long Beach at 158 E. Park Ave. in July. The gallery features all handmade items, including a mahogany chess from Honduras, pottery from Bulgaria, and silk scarves made by a woman in Baldwin. Owner Ivy Ramos opened her gallery in Rockville Centre four years ago, but she moved it south to Long Beach after Hurricane Sandy, to be a party of the city’s comeback.“We definitely want to be part of the Renaissance in Long Beach,” she told Patch.
