Pennsylvania Ave. Mirrors City On Road To Recovery

West End street is a concentrated reminder of the post-Sandy world Long Beach residents live with post-Hurricane Sandy.

Pennsylvania Avenue in Long Beach serves, at least on the surface, as a microcosm of what many city residents have experienced on their road to recovery after Hurricane Sandy hit last October. The West End block is dotted with elevated homes, vacant lots where houses once stood, and a trailer home and mobile storage unit on the street. The block is a concentrated reminder of the post-Sandy world Long Beach residents now live with as the one-year anniversary of the crippling storm nears.
