Photos: Signs of the Times in Long Beach

A photo gallery of postings in the city.

Is Long Beach trying to tell us something? There are many words posted around the city, most of them evoking some kind of rules and regulations. They run the gamut of telling us when the beach is open, to warning us to our step when boarding a train, to admonitions about feeding wildlife. Some tell us there’s no two-ways about driving on a street; others welcome us to Long Beach. In other words, the city is filled with all kinds of street signs, and Patch photographers thought we’d capture some of the various postings for this week’s Viewfinder gallery of photos.

Don't forget ALL the "For Sale" signs. Sometimes I see five for sales signs on one block!

Corruption is running rampant in Long Beach; A sitting Councilman is indicted for theft and hasn't resigned; $6million dollars is missing from the Long Beach treasury; the school district is in the hole for millions of dollars for a football stadium and raising property taxes; the East School is being kept open for impending illegal aliens moving to Long Beach; the streets need to be paved etc. tec etc and this is the cutting edge of journalism!!

P.S. How long do you think it will be before the patonage ridden Atlantic Beach Bridge Authority increases the toll?

There is a sign at Park and Grand in front of the Vet's office that says "Please respect the neighbor's don't let your dog go on the grass. Interestingly enough it is hung on a pole that also holds a small trash can and bags for your dog's business.

... And this is the cutting edge of commentary, when we've reported on everything you've mentioned above., and then some.
