Family Movie Night: Food, Inc.

An important documentary that lifts the veil on our nation’s food industry, exposing how our food supply is now controlled by a handful of corporations that put profit above everything else. Food, Inc. reveals surprising – and often shocking – truths about what we eat, how it’s produced and who we have become as a nation.

Parental Advisory: Among other things, this film looks at the inhumane treatment of animals and the unsanitary and unsafe conditions in food production plants. Parents should be advised that there is factual footage of gravely mistreated animals. These scenes are not gratuitous, but they are real and disturbing, with the intention of helping families make better-informed choices about what they eat. This film would be appropriate only for mature middle school children and older.
