If you joined us for Monotype Printmaking, you will LOVE relief printing! Related but a little different... here's how....
Relief printing involves carving into a malleable surface, leaving a raised surface that protrudes above the recessions. We apply ink to the raised surface with a brayer (while the depressed surface remains ink-free) and then transfer the inked plate onto paper, resulting in a print.

It is a simple form of printmaking, requiring only pigments, a surface on which to apply them, paper and some form of press, yet produces crazy fun results! Once you have created your “plate,” you can make multiple prints in various forms and colors. Come join us—beginners and all levels welcome. Just bring a sense of creative adventure and the desire to try something new; you will leave with an awesome collection of prints you can frame or work into other pieces of art (art journals, bookbinding, painting/collage...).
BYOB if you’d like, we’ll have some snacks and non-alcoholic fizzy drinks too.
