ConvoyofHope.org

Just came back from Hagerty School where ConvoyofHope.org is distributing supplies to needy families in Island Park.  They work in conjunction with FEMA and are wonderful, caring volunteers with a message of hope for us all.
ConvoyofHope.org are looking for a place to hold a Christmas lunch on Dec. 22, 2012 at 2:00PM for all Island Park and any families in need of a bit of Holiday cheer.  If anyone knows of a site to hold this generous and selfless Christmas luncheon (with toys for kids, food, caring, etc...) PLEASE email or call Tori at 516-375-4228 torimarkou@gmail.com.  Convoyofhope.org works in conjunction with FEMA and frankly, FEMA have been the true heroes here in IP, in my experience.
Also, if you have not received any money from your insurance companies as of yet, I urge you to call Governor Cuomo's office and let them know how the Homeowner's and Flood insurance companies are dragging their feet and / or not disbursing advances in a timely fashion.  How are we supposed to get things restored if money is not available?  Gov. Cuomo's hotline is 1-888-769-7243 and the Department of Financial Services Insurance Disaster Hotline is 1-800-339-1759: tell them what your insurance companies are NOT doing for you and they will get the ball rolling.  Have your insurance company and flood insurance company names and policy numbers ready - you'll be pleasantly surprised at how they will try to expedite help.  Hope this helps and I hope someone will get in touch with Tori re: a site to hold the Dec. 22nd luncheon.  Thank you and warmest wishes to all.
