JVO of Long Beach Remember Pearl Harbor

The Join Veterans Organization of Long Beach invite all to participate in a remembrance of Pearl Harbor at Veterans Park in Long Beach on Wednesday, December 7 at 11AM.

The event, hosted by the City of Long Beach and the JVO (American Legion, VFW, AMVETS and Jewish War Veterans) will take place indoors on the 2nd floor of the Ice Arena at Veterans Park (Magnolia Blvd. and the bay front.)  Veterans, soldiers and their families will join City officials along with NYS Assemblyman Harvey Weisenberg and Nassau County Legislator Denise Ford.  A wreath will be placed on the waters and there will be a moment of silence and a rifle salute for all those who have died in service to the US.

The commemoration is held each year to honor the more than 2400 soldiers, marines and seamen who lost their lives when the Japanese Air Force attacked Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, on that “day of infamy,” December 7, 1941.
