Hempstead Town sanitation department will collect old electronic equipment Wednesday.
Hempstead Town is offering a
curbside e-cycle collection Wednesday, Jan. 30.
As consumers are updating their electronic equipment more rapidly
these days, proper disposal is important due to the toxins contained in
these products.
"That's why Hempstead Town is taking responsible and proactive steps
to ensure that your old electronic equipment can be recycled and
disposed of properly," the town's website states.
Electronic equipment that will be accepted include:
- computers
- computer components
- televisions
- DVD players
- VCRs
Items should be to your curb by 6 a.m. Available to Town of
Hempstead Department of Sanitation residential customers only. This includes Lido Beach and Point Lookout, but
not Long Beach residents.
Businesses do not qualify. Call the Sanitation Department at 378-4210,
option 6 for further details.
