Brazilian Band "Banda Olhos da Agua" gave a very spirited performance this past Saturday at Bahia Social Club, a South American tapas-style restaurant that is located in the West-end of Long Beach.
The night was totally happenstance as I was exercising the couch potato experience at home and didn't know exactly what to do that evening. I decided to check out Facebook to see what was going on and I noticed that a live performance was scheduled at Bahia, but I noticed on the event RSVP I only saw about six "yes," so I figured it would be a intimidate gathering, small but good enough to get me motivated to want to check it out.
I am always game for good food and music. I decided not to higher my expectations but I was in for a surprise.
When I got to the venue, it was packed to the hilt. The Bahia had very friendly atmosphere. The entertainment for the evening was Banda Olhos da Agua -- a Brazillian band that was very engaging to the audience by bringing the spirit of Carnival to the Island.
The engagement of the band created a experience for the customer into the soul of Brazil. The band leader KiKi gave a semi-instruction of some Brazilian Samba, which motivated dancing all night long until closing.
The Bahia Social Club is truly a diamond in the rough on the West End. I had such an enjoyable time.
The food infused with all of the South American flavors were delightful. I had an order of croquettes and Yuka to die for. Such amazing tastes, experiences through the music, sound and taste bringing South America to Long Beach.
