Leonard Waterman, a 25-year resident of Long Beach, died on Aug. 28. He was 63.
Survived by his wife, Ellen, and daughter, Kristen, Waterman is remembered for his enjoyment of the Long Beach boardwalk, where he attended summer concerts on the beach and simply loved to soak up the sun. "Lenny," as he was fondly known, also liked to play basketball and coach his daughter's softball games, as well as those of his niece, Jean-Marie.
“He was a sweet, fun-loving guy who always loved to laugh and spend time with his family,” Kristen said.
Waterman was a hospital police officer for New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation at Jacobi Hospital in the Bronx, where he worked for 35 years. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus in Long Beach.
"With his great heart and wonderful spirit Long Beach has lost a good one,” said Jean-Marie.
